Mobile Developers Meetup #19

In August, we got to hold our Mobile Developers meetup, where we got to experience two amazing and inspiring talks from skilled developers. Our first talk was from a GDE in Kotlin expert Monoid Karin-Aleksandra, where she got to share important basics of “Configuration Management in Kotlin”. Our second speaker was Ivan Hjelmeland, where he got to discuss his journey on “How I, as an Indie Developer, built a portfolio of apps”, as well as give us some of his insider tips and tricks.

Even if you didn’t get to come see it in person, you can still go and check out the full recording of both talks on our YouTube Channel. Don’t be afraid, you will have a chance to hear more amazing talks soon!

Teambuilding events: Balcia teambuilding and designers breakfast

Teamwork makes the dream work! On August 20th, our Balcia project team got to hold a really fun teambuilding event at Sigulda, Poligon-1, where they started with a test of orienting skills in a maze, as well as train their shooting skills through lasertag. Later in the evening, they went off to replenish their energy in a nearby restaurant Ezitis Migla. Overall, it was an incredibly motivating and refreshing event, where the team got to get closer to each other.

But that’s not it! Our designers also got a chance to sit back, grab a coffee together and start their morning strong with a great morning breakfast together to talk about their future plans, as well as reflect on their current projects!

Joining forces with "Shortcut"

Now, this is something exciting that we have been waiting for so long to announce. Last winter, our CEO Vjaceslavs Kreidikovs met up with Marius Mårnes Mathiesen, who is a CEO in one of the leading app makers in Scandinavia called "Shortcut". After months of talking and many many meetings, we are proud to announce that we have joined forces with Shortcut!

There might be a question, why? Well, starting from just having a similar slogan (Chili - “We make mobile apps”, Shortcut - “We make apps for life”) to sharing a deep relationship with our clients, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to join forces. Both companies have one simple, yet challenging goal - to become the greatest app development company in the world!

We are hoping that both by sharing knowledge and resources between each other, this goal will someday become a reality. Thank you to Shortcut for bringing us into their circle and let’s build the greatest apps in Europe!

Product Design Meetup #8

Last, but certainly not the least, we are proud to announce that we are once again going to host our regular Product Design Meetup on September 28th. It will be happening at our usual Workland office.

Our first speaker will be Ligita Kačanovska, our very own UX/UI designer from Chili, where she will give us insights into "Visual Hierarchy: Why We Need It" . Additionally, we are proud to say that our second speaker will be Jesús González Torres, who is a Tech Design Lead from Norway, currently working at Shortcut. He will be taking a deepdive into "Designing the Future: Tech Trends of 2023."

Don’t be afraid, come listen and network! Tickets are free, but limited, so don’t miss your chance and see you there!
