Getify - restaurant food ordering app

We helped a foodtech startup from Latvia by taking over development of their app. Our work consisted of enhancing Getify app’s performance by optimizing functionality, refining the UI, and introducing new features.

About the app

Getify was designed to let users order ahead, skip the wait, and discover restaurants on their routes. Our job was to rebuild it into a reliable, functioning product.

Projects tasks

A client approached us to take over their existing app, which was originally developed by another company. They were facing serious quality issues and technical challenges that affected performance and stability. Our task was to rebuild the product, stabilize it, and set a solid foundation for future growth. Our responsibilities included:
Improvement of app’s technical state and performance for Users & Getify partners
Development of a visually appealing and user-friendly UI/UX design
Implementation of new Flutter-based features

App performance improvements

Before refining the design, we carried out a full code audit. Considering budget limitations, our goal was to make it scalable for the future development and maintenance. This approach allowed us to add new features and expand app’s capabilities effectively.
Zero tolerance politics for bugs
Code audit uncovered the truth - app's technical state was far from perfect. Bugs & optimization issues were a barrier to app usage and further feature implementation. The goal was set to get rid of technical issues and keep all of the functionality working as smooth as possible.

To ensure that users could order and receive hot & delicious food, a powerful yet easy-to-use Partner app was required. For restaurants, it had to be as reliable and functional as a Swiss Army knife — simple, efficient, and ready for any task.

New functionality development
After sorting bugs and issues, a technical foundation was built. Our team at Chili could move towards the development of new features. We contributed to Wallet implementation, which enables Getify users to easily top up their accounts and pay for orders directly within the app.

At the same time, we developed a flexible system for Getify’s partners, allowing them to create and manage custom promotional campaigns and attract more customers. A lot of testing was involved to ensure that both B2C and B2B user experience was improved.

Features for User

The initial user interface was overly complex, with numerous sub-categories and nested menus. Back then, food ordering apps were just gaining popularity, so our main goal was to create a simple, functional, and user-friendly interface that could be easily understood by a wide range of users. Based on this idea we provided a design concept and implemented new key features:
Ability to create an order with one of three receiving options
The goal was to avoid waiting time by connecting users with restaurants.

Eat-In: Arrive at a restaurant but can’t find a free table? Check availability and place your order in advance.

Takeaway: Going on a picnic or on the go? Order your favorite meals and enjoy them wherever you like.

Drive-In: Short on time or don’t want to park? Place your order, and the restaurant will deliver it directly to your car or bike.

Route preview
When going on a trip with your family or friends, someone will definitely get hungry. Enter your destination to see which restaurants are on your route. With the ability to place orders in advance, this feature helps users save time and enjoy a seamless travel experience.

Advanced restaurant filters & categories
Looking for a dog-friendly restaurant? Want a place with a children’s playground? Craving sushi to make the day even better? Simply apply the filters and categories that suit your needs.

Payments using Stripe
We ensured secure payment processing for users while offering convenient options like Apple Pay and Google Pay for a smooth checkout experience.

Features for Getify Partner

To help partners work more conveniently and efficiently, we introduced several new features.
Centralized order management:
All new and active orders are displayed in one place, reducing time spent on navigation and coordination.
Quick performance overview:
Partners can instantly track daily and weekly order counts and total revenue.
Direct communication:
Built-in tools allow restaurants to connect with customers and receive feedback in real time.

Result

Within just 8 months, the app went live and received positive user feedback. At its peak, it reached 11,000 active users. Showing frequent activity and strong interaction across features, an engagement rate of 60.94% was achieved in Latvia. The app maintained a crash-free user rate above 95%, demonstrating stability and reliability.
