Chili Labs was hired to expand BTCBIT beyond the web. We partnered closely to create a fast, secure, and intuitive mobile trading experience that allows users to buy, sell, and manage crypto assets in just a few taps. The solution follows enterprise-level standards, without compromise.
Product Vision
BTCBIT wanted to make cryptocurrency trading more accessible to a global audience by launching a mobile app that would:
• Bridge fiat and digital currencies
• Support instant payments
• Meet strict regulatory and security requirements
• Deliver a smooth, modern user experience
The main goal wasn’t to recreate the web platform, but to completely rethink the product for mobile users.
Project Tasks
Building a scalable and secure mobile app was critical for BTCBIT. The requirements included allowing users to quickly verify their identity, fund their accounts, and trade digital assets with minimal friction.
The development strategy was aligned with the key challenges:
• The platform existed only as a web solution, limiting user engagement on mobile
• Complex financial flows needed to be adapted for small screens
• High security and regulatory requirements (VASP, KYC, data protection)
• Need for fast global payments without sacrificing reliability
• Risk of poor UX if heavy financial logic was transferred directly to mobile without redesign

How did we start
BTCBIT approached us with a strong web platform and a clear ambition to enter the mobile market.
Our first steps included:

We structured development into four delivery phases:
• Foundation & Security – core architecture, Firebase integration, secure authorization
• User Verification – automated KYC and identity management
• The Exchange Hub – transactions, calculators, asset dashboards
• Optimization & Release – analytics, localization, store deployments
This approach allowed us to deliver a stable product quickly and then grow it safely.

Smooth Web-to-Mobile Transition
For established BTCBIT users, transition to mobile app needed to be natural and secure. To deliver expected results, we made sure that:
